HowinFleet began as a way to run a restaurant chain's own deliveries and grew into a delivery management platform for any business with its own delivery network. Owners, delivery managers and riders now work from one system instead of spreadsheets, phone calls and disconnected tools.

Product
HowinFleet, a delivery management SaaS developed by HowinCloud
Industry
Logistics and delivery management, for businesses that run their own delivery network
Started as
A way to manage a restaurant chain's own deliveries
Before
Orders assigned by hand, constant calls to riders, little view of progress, and attendance, collections and incentives tracked separately
What we built
A delivery management platform, a rider app and an operations dashboard, connecting owners, delivery managers and riders

The problem

Businesses that ran their own deliveries were doing most of it by hand. Orders were assigned to riders manually, and finding out where a delivery had got to meant calling the rider.

Attendance, cash collections and rider incentives were tracked separately, in spreadsheets and notes that someone had to reconcile at the end of the day.

HowinFleet started with exactly this problem inside a restaurant chain's delivery operation. Solving it there showed the same gaps in every business that runs its own riders.

The deliveries were getting done. Nobody could see the whole operation while it was happening.

Before

Dispatch during the lunch rush. Every update came through a phone call.

9:41
Dispatch · Lunch rushRiders · on call
  • Who's free near the market? New order just came in
  • Still on my last drop. Ten more minutes
  • The customer called again. Where is that order now?
  • Stuck in traffic. Should I take the other road?
  • How much cash are you holding? I need it for the sheet
  • Who came in today? Updating attendance for incentives

Repeated for every order, every rider, every shift

After

One system. Managers see every delivery; riders get their orders in the app.

  • New order assigned to a riderSent to the rider app, no call neededIn the app
  • Eagle View: every rider, liveSee where each delivery is right nowLive
  • Route planned for the next dropsAI route optimisation for the riderAutomatic
  • Collection logged on deliveryCash and digital, rider by riderAutomatic

No one has to phone a rider to know where an order is.

Pain points

What running your own deliveries looked like without a system, and what each part was costing.

  • 01

    Orders assigned by hand

Every new order needed someone to pick a rider and pass it on.

Dispatch slows down as volumes grow

  • 02

    Constant calls to riders

Managers phoned riders for updates, and riders phoned back for directions and changes.

Managers tied to the phone all shift

  • 03

    No view of delivery progress

Once an order left, nobody could see where it was without asking.

Customers chasing updates no one had

  • 04

    Collections tracked separately

Cash and digital payments collected by riders were matched to orders by hand.

Gaps found late, if at all

  • 05

Attendance and incentives on the side

Who worked, for how long and what they earned lived in separate sheets.

Rider accountability hard to pin down

  • 06

    Scattered tools

Spreadsheets, phone calls and separate tools, none of them connected.

    Decisions made without live data

How we worked

HowinFleet wasn't designed from a feature list. It grew out of a real delivery operation.

  1. 01

    Start in one operation

The first version was built to run a restaurant chain's own deliveries: how orders come in, how riders are assigned, and how cash and attendance are settled at the end of the day.

  2. 02

    Find the common pattern

The same gaps showed up in every business with its own riders: manual assignment, calls for updates, and collections, attendance and incentives tracked apart.

  3. 03

    Build one platform

We turned it into a SaaS platform that connects business owners, delivery managers and riders, so the whole delivery operation runs in one system.

Routines replaced

Six jobs that ran on calls and spreadsheets now run in one system.

Each line below was a manual step in running deliveries. HowinFleet handles it, so managing more deliveries doesn't mean adding the same amount of admin.

Where the time went: back to managing growth. More deliveries without the same rise in admin.

What we built

A delivery management platform, a rider app and an operations dashboard, working as one. Each part replaces a call, a sheet or a separate tool.

  • Order management and rider assignment

Orders come into one place and go to a rider from the dashboard, straight to the rider app.

ReplacedOrders assigned by hand and passed on by phone

  • Eagle View live tracking

Real-time GPS tracking of every rider and delivery on one map.

ReplacedCalling riders to ask where they are

  • AI route optimisation

Routes planned for each rider's drops.

ReplacedRoutes worked out on the road

  • Cash and digital collections

Every payment a rider collects, cash or digital, tracked against the order and the rider.

ReplacedCollections matched by hand at the end of the day

  • Attendance

Rider attendance recorded in the same system as the deliveries.

    ReplacedSeparate attendance sheets

  • Incentives

Rider incentives tracked alongside deliveries and attendance.

    ReplacedIncentives calculated by hand

  • Operational reports

Live delivery data for management decisions.

    ReplacedReports pieced together from spreadsheets

What changed

Deliveries run from one connected system, not from a phone.

  • Owners, delivery managers and riders work in one platform instead of spreadsheets, calls and separate tools.
  • Management sees every delivery live through Eagle View, with clearer accountability for each rider.
  • Collections, attendance and incentives are tracked in the same system as the deliveries.
  • Growing delivery volumes no longer bring the same growth in admin.

How HowinCloud works

We build around how your business already works. HowinFleet started inside one company's delivery operation and became a platform for every business that runs its own riders.
